Puck

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

Puck was abandoned along with his sister. The two puppies were left in a plastic bag and left to their fate. Fortunately, they were found in time and taken in by us. Puck has been living in a Romanian foster home for several weeks now and is showing himself to be a friendly and open-minded young male. Puck is people-oriented, cheerful and sociable. He approaches both acquaintances and strangers openly and friendly. He gets along well with other dogs and shows interest and social behavior even in new dog encounters. Puck has also already met cats. He is curious about them and so far shows no aggressive behavior. In his foster home, Puck can relax and unwind. He lets himself be touched and cared for everywhere and is described as moderately active. Leash training must be learned with Puck. Puck is a young dog who brings a good foundation with him, but still has a lot to learn. Many things that are part of a normal everyday life in Germany must first be learned and learned reliably. These include, among other things, house training, staying alone, leash training, road traffic, different environmental stimuli and a structured daily routine. In the coming months, Puck will also enter puberty. His future owners should therefore be prepared to guide him clearly and reliably, to convey rules and boundaries to him and to continue working with him consistently even when previously learned things are temporarily called into question again. Puck brings friendly, social and eager to learn behavior with him. We are looking for people for him who are willing to accompany a young dog on this path and are willing to invest the necessary time in upbringing, training and bonding. After a positive preliminary check, Puck may move into his new home vaccinated, chipped, dewormed, dewormed and with an EU pet passport against a deposit of 495 euros.

About Puck

What life with Puck looks like

Puck is a puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein SpecialDogs e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Puck, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Puck?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein SpecialDogs e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Puck on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Puck if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein SpecialDogs e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Puck already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Puck isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein SpecialDogs e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Puck and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
