Adopt Puk

Mixed Breed · Female

We would like to introduce you to Puk, a very sweet and cozy cat of about 13 years old. Puk's owner died and unfortunately nothing was arranged for Puk. When we reached the question whether she could come to us we could not say "no." Puk has always enjoyed the attention and love she received from her owner. Although she is a bit uncomfortable with us, she shows herself as a sweet and gentle hug ass, although she sometimes waits a bit. She will probably like to be near her future owner and she likes to come to you on the couch or on the bed to take a nap there. Given her age, Puk is no longer a real busy person. Her life consists mainly of cuddling, enjoying the sun, strolling through the house and especially many naps. For Puk we are looking for a fairly quiet house, suitable for her old age. Puk is good with older children and has met dogs regularly in her life. This always went well. Pitch can be kept as an indoor cat. When Puk came to us, we had her thoroughly examined by our vet, given her age and unknown medical background. Her organs are all in optimal condition, but it has been shown that she has severe osteoarthritis around her lower back, pelvis and hip. For this, she receives an injection once a month with long-term pain relief. She'll need this medication for the rest of her life

About Puk

What life with Puk looks like

Puk is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Kat in Nood in Netherlands.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Puk, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Puk?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Kat in Nood handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Puk on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Puk if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Kat in Nood will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Puk already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Puk isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Kat in Nood early rather than rehoming privately; they know Puk and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
