Akita Puppies Available for Adoption Meet this gorgeous litter of six Akita puppies, recently surrendered through no fault of their own and now looking for experienced, committed homes where they can grow into happy, well balanced adults. We have been asked to help another rescue find their forever homes At just 9 weeks old, they are full of fun, curiosity and confidence. They may be irresistibly cute and fluffy now, but these little bears will soon become large, powerful Akitas, so breed experience, or extensive experience with similar large breeds, together with a lifelong commitment to training and socialisation, is essential. 🐾These puppies could live as the only dog in the home or alongside a friendly, patient, neutered dog of the opposite sex. 🐾They could live with dog savvy children aged 6 years and over who understand that puppies can be bouncy, mouthy and have very sharp little teeth. 🐾They have not been cat tested. 🐾 A secure garden with 6ft fencing is required, and they are not suitable for flat living. Meet the puppies: Dustin (Male) A confident, outgoing boy who loves meeting people, playing with his toys and learning new things. Dustin is eager to engage with his handlers and will thrive with an owner who can guide him through puppy basics, including toilet training, confidence building, settling alone and positive training. Hopper (Male) Hopper is another happy, confident youngster who enjoys people, toys and discovering the world around him. Like all puppies, he will need patient guidance, ongoing socialisation and training to help him grow into a well mannered adult. Eddie (Male) Eddie is full of confidence and enthusiasm. Friendly, playful and keen to learn, he will need an experienced home committed to continuing his training and helping him develop into the wonderful companion we know he can be. Nancy (Female) Nancy is a sweet, playful girl who loves exploring and investigating everything around her. She enjoys spending time with her handlers and even has a love of water! She will benefit from puppy classes and continued socialisation as she grows. Robin (Female) The smallest of the litter, Robin is an affectionate little girl who loves cuddles and would happily curl up on your lap. Don’t let her size fool you though, she also has a cheeky, adventurous side and enjoys exploring toys and her surroundings. She will need the same commitment to training and socialisation as her siblings. Elle (Female) Elle is the cheekiest of the litter & enjoys telling you a story with a bark! She enjoys exploring the toy box & running about, but is happy to have fuss & will sit on your lap.. She has a lovely nature and will flourish with owners dedicated to giving her the guidance and training every Akita puppy needs. If you think you could offer one of these beautiful puppies the loving, experienced forever home they deserve, please complete an adoption application.

About Puppies

What life with Puppies looks like

Puppies is a large puppy/kitten akita dog waiting at Akita Rescue & Welfare Trust UK in United Kingdom.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Puppies, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Puppies?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Akita Rescue & Welfare Trust UK handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Puppies on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Puppies if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Akita Rescue & Welfare Trust UK will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Puppies already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Puppies isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Akita Rescue & Welfare Trust UK early rather than rehoming privately; they know Puppies and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
