Puzzle

Cocker Spaniel · Female · Adult · 5 years

17-06-26 Puzzle has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. She is a sweet little girl who is finding everything rather overwhelming at the moment and can be quite nervous, but underneath her worries she is a lovely girl who just needs some love, patience and TLC as she learns that the world is not such a scary place. Puzzle absolutely adores other dogs and really comes to life when she is around them. She loves to play with her kennel friends and gains so much confidence from their company, so she will need at least one other kind and confident resident dog in her new home to help reassure her and show her the ropes. Puzzle will be looking for a calm and quiet home where she can settle in at her own pace. As she has never lived in a home before, her adopters will need to be understanding and patient whilst she learns all about home life. She will need help with house training and will also need to learn how to walk on a lead and harness. Her new family should be around most of the time initially and be happy to take things slowly, allowing her to build her confidence in her own time. She can live with older, dog-savvy teens who allow her time to settle in at her own pace. Puzzle is a lovely little girl who may be worried right now, but with the support of her doggy friend and lots of kindness and reassurance, she will start to come out of her shell. She is currently receiving eye drops in both eyes for dry eye. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Puzzle

What life with Puzzle looks like

Puzzle is a adult cocker spaniel dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Puzzle, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Puzzle?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Puzzle on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Puzzle if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Puzzle already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Puzzle isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Puzzle and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
