Rabia

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten · 4 months

Rabia - a little heart on quiet paws 🐾 Our sweet Rabia, born around mid-June 2026, came to us with her mom and sisters. ❤️ Rabia is the most reserved of the sisters. She still finds people a bit strange and is shy. So she doesn't really want to be petted yet. But she is already making progress: she comes close to her caregiver and observes curiously what's happening around her. 🥹 Rabia needs people who give her time and patience and celebrate every small step. Because maybe her very own love story doesn't start with cuddling, but with a cautious approach. ❤️ In her new home, Rabia doesn't want to be alone. She would prefer to move in with a sister or a suitable cat of similar age and temperament. A secure cat friend can help her gain trust. Outdoor access would be nice, but it's not a must. What's more important is a quiet home where Rabia can arrive at her own pace. Maybe this little cat heart needs a little longer - but that's exactly why every small moment of trust will be something very special. 🥰 🐾 Rabia at a glance * 🐱 born around mid-June 2026 * 🌸 reserved, shy and cautious around people * 🐱 in pairs or with a suitable young cat * 🌿 outdoor access nice, but not a must * 🏡 quiet home with patience and love needed

About Rabia

What life with Rabia looks like

Rabia is a kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Tierheim Stendal in Stendal.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rabia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rabia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Stendal handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rabia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rabia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Stendal will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Rabia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rabia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Stendal early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rabia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
