adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Race has found his people! His story: In a private shelter in Baia Mare, five wonderful brothers are waiting for a loving home and urgently need your support! The little Race is only about 2-3 months old and has likely not experienced much goodness in his short life, as no one wanted him and took care of the cute little guy. He wandered around with his four brothers, Rio, Pino, Cosmo, and Maverick, on the streets of Romania and had the great fortune of being seen by responsible people and brought to Paul's Shelter. Now, he eagerly looks forward to a better future in a loving family. A foster home as a stepping stone into his new life would also greatly help the sweet puppy. Race is a loving puppy, lively, curious, and alert. But even though our Romanian staff members use every free moment to distribute some cuddles and kind words, they cannot be fair to the many puppies in the shelter. Therefore, just like his siblings, Race should find a loving home as quickly as possible where friendly people will take care of him and show him the big, wide world. In a stable environment with patient people, he will develop wonderfully. Race is a charming and especially handsome puppy. He stands out among his darker brothers with his bright color. His fur is soft and cream-colored, his round eyes are bright and black, and they look loyal and innocent into the camera. Race is expected to develop into a medium-sized dog. At about two to three months old, Race is simply a wonderful and sweet puppy that knows nothing of life. But before you know it, he will also become a pubertal puppy, and puberty is also a time for dogs when the foundations for the rest of their life are set. That's why he now needs a real home where he will be lovingly and patiently taught the rules for a harmonious coexistence with people. We recommend that new owners work with a positively working dog training class, as joint play and training will strengthen his self-confidence and the bond to his trusted people. Through regular contact with fellow animals and many positive experiences with his people, the cute little guy will quickly learn the 1×1 for a wonderful family dog and develop into a happy and reliable companion. Do you perhaps have a warm dog bed and a place in your heart for the cute, little Race? Then contact us. A special thank you goes to the namesake Heidemarie, who gave Race his name and thus his own identity. As of: 01.06. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped. This is a young, adolescent dog.

Stand: 01.06.2025

About Race

What life with Race looks like

Race is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Race, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Race?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Race on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Race if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Race already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Race isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Race and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
