Adopt Raggsy

Mixed Breed Cat · Female

Well hello everyone, My name is Raggsy! My personality: I am an older lady, but that doesn’t stop me…. I love to play with catnip and chase feathers. I am a friendly girl who loves a fuss, I even roll over on my belly and if you are extra special I’ll let you give it a rub. My ideal home: I would love a calm home, a home where I can potter around and have human attention when I want it. I have previously lived with other cats so I potentially could again, with slow introductions of course! My purrfect home would be with someone who loves an older girl, the humans say I may turn out to be the perfect companion. Access to outdoors: I am an older girl so I may prefer being an indoor cat, but if you would like to let me potter around the garden I’m sure that will be just fine. Toileting: I am litter-trained, I prefer grit litter. Did you know: Older cats find it more difficult to find a home, but we are the ones who need that chance the most! My adoption fee is £100

About Raggsy

What life with Raggsy looks like

Raggsy is a adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Rain Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Raggsy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Raggsy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Rain Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Raggsy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Raggsy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Rain Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Raggsy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Raggsy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Rain Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Raggsy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
