Ralphie

Mixed Breed · Male

Ralphie is a handsome male Roborovski hamster, estimated to be around a year old. With his beautiful sandy-coloured fur and bright, curious personality, he is a lovely little hamster to watch as he explores his world. Ralphie originally lived with another robo hamster, but he has been left with a few small tears to his ears from fighting. Thankfully, these have healed well, and since moving into his own enclosure he has absolutely thrived. He now enjoys having his own space and spends his time doing all the things robos love best – racing around on his wheel, digging in his sand bath, and investigating anything new that appears in his enclosure. Unlike many Roborovski hamsters, who can be very nervous and skittish, Ralphie is a relatively confident little chap. While he is still a typical busy robo and prefers exploring to cuddling, he is brave, curious, and comfortable around people, making him a rewarding hamster to care for. Ralphie is now looking for a loving forever home where he can continue enjoying his wheel, sand bath, and all the enrichment a busy robo hamster deserves 💛

About Ralphie

What life with Ralphie looks like

Ralphie is a small adult mixed breed animal waiting at Bristol Rabbit Rescue & Friends in United Kingdom.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows Ralphie far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ralphie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ralphie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Bristol Rabbit Rescue & Friends handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ralphie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ralphie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Bristol Rabbit Rescue & Friends will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ralphie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ralphie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Bristol Rabbit Rescue & Friends early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ralphie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
