Adopt Rana

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 9 years

Steckbrief Age: Born in 2021. Gender: Female. Spayed: Yes Character: Very friendly, people-oriented, very social in dealing with other dogs Size: approx. 45 cm In shelter since: July 2024 Temporary shelter stop! This was probably not one of the dreams Rana had in her life – now it is what it is, and the pretty girl shows all her good sides to be able to leave the shelter as quickly as possible. Rana is absolutely lovely and is happy to have any contact with people – who knows, maybe she even had a home once. Despite the new situation for her, she is cheerful and carefree. She is also nice to her doggy friends and gets along with all of them. Once nice, understanding people have found who can show Rana life in the house and teach her the dog 1×1, she will surely be a great family dog. Where are the dog lovers who have always wanted a beautiful, black-brown beauty by their side and want to show Rana the comfortable life with THEIR people? The people who do not give up right away if the first steps into the new life are a bit bumpy, with maybe a few puddles in the apartment? Who ends Rana's temporary shelter stop? If you are interested in Rana, please fill out our interest form () or send us an email or a message on Facebook. Rana is ready to travel and can travel to Germany with the next transport. Our dogs travel legally with Traces. Traces refers to the database system that monitors the entire animal transport within the EU. The dogs travel neutered (if old enough), vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed, and have an EU passport. Additionally, for dogs over 12 months old, a rapid test for the following Mediterranean diseases is conducted before travel arrangements: Borrelia, Anaplasma, Ehrlichia, Dirofilaria, and leishmaniasis. The sponsorship for Rana has been taken over by Ellen I., and thus ensures a full plate. Many thanks on behalf of the dogs!

About Rana

What life with Rana looks like

Rana is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Seelen für Seelchen e.V. in Alfter.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rana, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rana?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelen für Seelchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rana on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rana if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelen für Seelchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rana already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rana isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelen für Seelchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rana and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
