Rani

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 5 months

Rani - open and curious young dog Rani and his brother Rio were given up at our animal shelter in Hungary. They were found on the street, so unfortunately we don't know anything about their parents. But what we do know is that they are two totally happy, friendly and people-oriented young dogs! Rani is open and curious, just a young dog ready to explore the world. Rani learns from us at the farm different people and dogs, we practice walking him on a leash, do little exercises with him and also street training. Rani already knows how to drive a car. We are looking for people who know that a young dog needs time and patience. Attending a good dog school is certainly useful to grow into a really good team. Unfortunately, we can't make any definitive statement about Rani's final size, but we suspect he will be around medium-sized. His birth date was also estimated by our veterinarian. Rani is ready for travel in late August. Preferred direct adoption upon arrival in Switzerland or pickup in Hungary is possible. We would be happy to provide more information!

About Rani

What life with Rani looks like

Rani is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Your Heart 4 Rescued Dogs in Yourheart4dogs.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rani, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rani?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Your Heart 4 Rescued Dogs handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rani on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rani if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Your Heart 4 Rescued Dogs will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rani already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rani isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Your Heart 4 Rescued Dogs early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rani and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
