Adopt Stella

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

Stella – a friendly female dog seeks people with a heart and understanding of dogs. The lovely Stella was wandering around homeless in Kecskemét on September 10, 2025, relatively thin, and of course, she had no chip. We do not know how long she had been on her own or why she became homeless. There is a Facebook page where private individuals post missing or homeless dogs in Kecskemét, and Stella was posted there the day before, someone likely went to the vet to check if she had a chip, but she didn’t, and they put Stella back on the street… Stella then had the good fortune to run into the “right” people the next day and didn’t have to go to the animal shelter but could go to a private foster home. Nevertheless, Stella is still looking for a new home with loving people who have a plan for life and an understanding of dogs, who will never leave her. Stella looks like a bodybuilder, she is very muscular, compact, and a bit overweight at the back. She is a very friendly, loving, sensitive, open, and clingy female dog. She likes to get cuddles and enjoys when someone takes care of her and gives her attention and affection, she has a lot of catch-up to do and doesn’t want to miss out on this. Also, Stella still needs to learn a few things, and her people should be happy to teach her everything she doesn’t know yet. Walking on a leash, she already does very well, but it is certainly still something that can be improved, that is, there is still room for refinement. She would also be happy about mental and physical challenges, as well as a lot of time spent in nature with her new people. Stella gets along well with other animals, but prefers a slow introduction. She does not like dominant dogs. On the foster home, she is daily with a male dog, which works out well; she played with a four-month-old vacation dog and also had contact with the other dogs, and that works well too. But one must be able to read dogs and give them security and orientation. Stella knows the muzzle, which she accepts well. Her new two-leggeds should also see the muzzle as a useful tool so that she can gather many positive experiences without stress. When Stella was neutered, her elbows and hips were X-rayed, which are in good condition. In her back, she has mild spondylosis. The vet who set the chip and issued the pass estimated Stella to be around 1.5 years old, while the vet who neutered her estimated her to be 3-5 years old. Probably the truth lies somewhere in the middle. Stella knows how to ride in the car, which she likes. For our wonderful Stella, we are looking for loving and adventure-loving dog lovers who will finally show her the sunny side of life. Experienced dog people who love, understand, and can lead the nature of these dogs. Great two-leggeds who will make up for everything she missed and show her what it feels like to have a caring home, her own food bowl, a soft bed, and people who will spoil her with many cuddles, exciting walks, and a full family connection. Who can be a faithful companion to Stella? Stella was tested negative for skin and heartworm in September 2025. Stella can travel starting around mid/end October 2025 if she finds a home or a foster home. We are providing Stella with assistance in finding a home. Since Stella is a staff mix, we ask you to check the relevant local regulations of your community if you are interested.

About Stella

What life with Stella looks like

Stella is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Your Heart 4 Rescued Dogs in Yourheart4dogs.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Stella, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Stella?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Your Heart 4 Rescued Dogs handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Stella on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Stella if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Your Heart 4 Rescued Dogs will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Stella already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Stella isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Your Heart 4 Rescued Dogs early rather than rehoming privately; they know Stella and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
