Adopt Ratatouille

European Shorthair · Male · Adult · 5 years

Identified by microchip Type: European Color: Grey tabby Coat: short Neutered Tested FIV (AIDS) and FELV (Leukemia) negative Vaccinated for Typhus and Coryza Health: All is well. In foster care. My name is Ratatouille. Yes, like the culinary masterpiece, but in a furry, mustachioed version and slightly more demanding when it comes to the temperature of cuddles. I am a 5-year-old grey tabby, and allow me to introduce myself properly: a perfectly simmered mix of tenderness, charisma and... a hint of brusqueness, like an unexpected spoonful. But rest assured, it's always with love. A bit like when you taste a spicy sauce without waiting, it surprises, but it's delicious. Read more... My signature dish? The "infinite cream cuddle". I can serve it at any time: morning, noon, night, and especially at night. Besides, at night, I sleep on my foster uncle. Well... "on" is a euphemism. Let's say I turn him into a luxurious ergonomic mattress. And be careful: when I'm sleeping, I'm in slow cooking mode. Strictly forbidden to disturb me. You don't lift the lid of a dish in the middle of cooking, come on. During the day, I also practice the "arm to take away". My human works from home? Perfect. I settle in his arms and stay there, like a nicely browned brioche that refuses to leave the oven. Productivity? Maybe. But maximum comfort guaranteed. I am very affectionate, very attached, and I love moments of tenderness. Well... sometimes my outbursts of love resemble an attack by a star chef under caffeine - a bit abrupt, certainly - but always sincere. Let's say I'm a seasoned dish: not for the most sensitive palates. In terms of environment, I prefer a fairly spacious apartment. I like having space to simmer my thoughts and do some sprints worthy of an electric whip. And for young children... let's say I'm not really a smooth puree that's easy to digest. I'm rather a tasty and delicate dish, to be appreciated with a bit of experience. My story? I had a family, but some were allergic, and the doctor decided I had to change my kitchen... uh, my house. My sister, on the other hand, has already found her new five-star restaurant. I am still waiting for my next big service. So here we are: if you're looking for a sweet companion, full of personality, a bit spicy but above all extremely affectionate... I am your Ratatouille. And between us, who could resist a cat who turns every hug into a gourmet recipe? Find Ratatouille on the refuge's Facebook page.

About Ratatouille

What life with Ratatouille looks like

Ratatouille is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus in France.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ratatouille, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ratatouille?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ratatouille on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ratatouille if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ratatouille already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ratatouille isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ratatouille and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
