RAUL

Male · Senior · 14 years

Today we would like to introduce you to RAUL. Raul's story is a sad one... He had a family, but due to various problems, they were forced to leave him in the care of the animal shelter. It was back in 2015, Raul was 3 years old. He arrived at the Enpa in Turin 2 years ago, at 12 years old. How many adoption requests can a 12-year-old dog receive? We'll tell you: NONE. That's why we want to introduce him to you, even though we know it's not a simple adoption. Raul was born in March 2012, so he is 14 years old. But believe us when we say he doesn't look his age. Sure, his walk is no longer straight. He loses a step every now and then. But he still has a lot of fun playing with the ball, and let's say, he's really beautiful and very photogenic. We are looking for someone who wants to open their heart to an old dog, who has spent almost his entire life in a shelter. Raul doesn't like being pampered, so, given his age, it would be better if there were no small children around. He is compatible with female dogs, with whom he has always shared the box. He is a large breed (28 kg). To meet RAUL and for more information: ENPA Torino Via Germagnano, 8 from Monday to Saturday from 1 pm to 4 pm

Oggi vogliamo presentarvi RAUL. Quella di Raul é una storia triste… Aveva una famiglia, ma per problemi di varia natura, sono stati costretti a consegnarlo alle cure del canile. Era il lontano 2015, Raul aveva 3 anni. É arrivato all’ Enpa di Torino 2 anni fa, a 12 anni.

About RAUL

What life with RAUL looks like

RAUL is a large senior dog waiting at ENPA Sezione Torino in Torino.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇮🇹Adopting from Italy

Italian canili require adopters to sign a stewardship contract (affido) and may retain the right to verify the animal's wellbeing post-adoption. Animals are chipped and sterilized before leaving (Legge 281/91). Public canili rifugio typically waive adoption fees.

Frequently asked

Adopting RAUL, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about RAUL?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ENPA Sezione Torino handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw RAUL on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt RAUL if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ENPA Sezione Torino will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is RAUL already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if RAUL isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ENPA Sezione Torino early rather than rehoming privately; they know RAUL and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (IT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
