Adopt Ray

Male · Kitten · 4 months

Hi everyone! My name is Ray and I am looking for my forever home with my brother Rolo. My personality: I am a sweet boy, I can be a little shy at first but very soon after I am confident and LOVE attention. The humans here say that I give the best head buts and you should hear my amazing purr. Speaking of voices wait until you hear my meow I have a very deep voice I am very cute. I love to play in catnip and I spend a lot of my time snuggling up with my brother. My ideal home: I would love a home where people are around, as I love attention when I am comfortable around you. I have lived with Rolo since I was a little kitten and we are VERY close so we would like to stay together. I have lived with husky dogs before to so I could live with dogs again, with slow introductions. I have also been around children before, I used to follow them around the neighbourhood. I would love a home with someone who has had experience with my breed before, as we can be a very demanding breed. Access to outdoors: I would love access to the outdoors or a large catio, once I have settled in of course. Toileting: I am litter-trained, I prefer grit litter. Did you know: As elegant as the Oriental looks, they can be quite a lap cat. Extremely affectionate and will sleep next to their parent in bed. My adoption fee is with my brother Rolo and that is £350

About Ray

What life with Ray looks like

Ray is a large puppy/kitten cat waiting at Rain Rescue in United Kingdom.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ray, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ray?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Rain Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ray on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ray if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Rain Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ray already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ray isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Rain Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ray and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
