Reeses is her name. She is a pretty tortoiseshell kitten with an estimated birth date of June 2, 2022. She was found wandering the streets in a group of cats and they were brought to our shelter together. Reeses is a quiet and cautious girl who prefers to keep her distance from us humans and observes us from afar. She enjoys life and staying with the other cats. She often lies in their vicinity or with them and finds comfort in their company. A calm approach and soft voice are rewarded with winks from her, which we also return to her. This is a sign of goodwill and intentions. We can, if calm, put a bowl of wet food in her vicinity where she will enjoy it. Regular offerings of this will certainly be appreciated and will help with socialization. Unforced, unconstrained and enough patience will contribute to her socialization process and the bond with her new owner(s). For Reeses, a quiet house/environment in a one- or two-person household is best. A higher climbing pole or a high-lying hiding/resting place is her favorite. From there, she can observe everything and feel safe to build trust. A quiet cat-friendly companion in the house also belongs there. With an already existing cat in the house, a gradual introduction is important to make the change successful. Reeses may also move with a cat(s) from her current space at the shelter. Currently, she is fed Royal Canin exigent kibble. In her golden bed, a transition to another kibble is possible as long as she eats it well. Dogs and children in the house are too energetic for her. Reeses is haar naam. Zij is een knap schildpadpoesje met een geschatte geboortedatum van 2 juni 2022. Zwervend op straat gevonden in een groep van katten en samen zijn ze naar onze opvang gebracht. Reeses is een rustig en voorzichtig meisje dat ons mensen nog het liefst op een afstandje bekijkt en observeert. Het leven en verblijven tussen de andere katten is fijn voor haar. Ze ligt vaak in hun buurt of bij ze en heeft daar steun aan. Rustige benadering en zacht stemgeluid worden door haar beloond met knipoogjes die wij haar ook teruggeven. Dit is een teken van goede wil en intenties. We kunnen, mits rustig, een bakje natvoer in haar buurt zetten waar ze van smult. Regelmatig aanbod hiervan zal ze zeker waarderen en helpt bij het socialiseren. Ongeforceerd, ongedwongen en genoeg geduld zullen bijdragen aan haar socialisatieproces en de band met haar nieuwe baasje(s). Voor Reeses is een rustig huisje/omgeving in een een- of tweepersoons huishouden het beste. Een hogere klimpaal of op hoogte gelegen schuil/ligplekje zijn haar favorieten. Van daaruit kan ze alles observeren en zich veilig voelen om het vertrouwen op te bouwen. Een rustige katsociale soortgenoot in huis hoort daar ook bij. Bij een al aanwezige kat in huis is een geleidelijke introductie belangrijk om de verandering te doen slagen. Reeses mag ook verhuizen met een kat(jes) uit haar huidige ruimte bij de opvang.
