adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Regulus has found a home! His story: Five beautiful siblings are waiting in a private foster home in Baia Mare to leave Romania and begin a new, better life. The little puppies and their mother were found by an old lady in the forest and saved from certain death. Now, the Five – Regulus, Finni, Leo, Enzo, and Jolie – urgently need support as they start their new life, because they should not spend their youth here but be rehomed into loving hands as soon as possible. That's why we are determined not to rest until we know the dogs are in safety and have found a place with loving people who will care for and love them and show them how wonderful life as a family dog can be. The handsome Regulus is a lively and friendly little boy, and with loving treatment, he will surely quickly develop trust in his new people and thrive. He loves playing with his siblings and finds all other dogs wonderful. Regulus has shining black fur with a white spot on his chest, and from his black, shiny round eyes, he looks hopefully into his future. The sweet treasure is about 2.5 months old and is expected to maintain a small to medium size. Regulus will surely settle into his new home quickly, although of course he has no experience with life as a house dog and will therefore certainly learn the entire dog 1×1 quickly with plenty of love, understanding, and positive reinforcement. After the adjustment period, the handsome young male dog will be happy to attend a positively working dog training class. In a few months, Regulus will then enter puberty, which may upset everything he has learned so far. But with a loving and consistent upbringing by his adopters, the handsome puppy will emerge from this phase as a well-mannered and self-confident young male dog and faithfully accompany his family in all activities. We wish for Regulus a dog-friendly family that will take him in lovingly and patiently, give him a sense of family, a warm dog bed, wonderful walks, and – very important for a young dog – plenty of contact with fellow animals. We would also be very happy about a foster home for Regulus. If you want to give Regulus a nice home, contact us. After a positive match, many thanks, dear Angelique. You have given Regulus a name and thus an unmistakable identity. Status: 12.12. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Stand: 12.12.2024

About Regulus

What life with Regulus looks like

Regulus is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Regulus, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Regulus?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Regulus on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Regulus if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Regulus already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Regulus isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Regulus and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
