11.10.2026 Young Pup Looking for Happiness Just a few weeks ago, we were able to take in the young, handsome Remig from the animal shelter in Kecskemét. He was admitted there in July 2026 as a found dog, as he was wandering alone and abandoned. Where the young pup came from and why he was on his own will remain his secret. Presumably he was no longer wanted and was simply abandoned; unfortunately, we do not know for certain. But the fact is that he had no microchip, no one had reported him missing, and he waited in vain for his people. No one came to take him home. Although he has already had to learn about the dark side of life, Remig is an open, lively, friendly and sweet young dog, simply a four-legged creature to fall in love with, a ray of sunshine, a dog that spreads good cheer. Unfamiliar situations can understandably unsettle him, but his curiosity soon wins out. He likes us two-legged humans and is happy when people give him time and affection; there he has a lot of catching up to do. He still has to learn many things from the basics of dog training, but he is eager to learn and to understand, and he will surely quickly grasp what is expected of him. Practice makes perfect, as the saying goes, and he wants to please and to work together with people. Spending time with Remig is simply a joy: going on exploratory walks with him and spoiling him with cuddles. He would surely enjoy sporting activities such as jogging, hiking, agility, and mantrailing, indeed anything that is fun for human and dog together, of course suited to his age and once he has settled in peacefully. The undiscovered talents slumbering within him can then be discovered by his new people. Remig gets along well with other dogs and currently lives in a mixed pack. He loves playing and romping with his canine buddies. For our Remig we are looking for a home full of enthusiasm for dogs, preferably also with children who have experience with dogs, where he will have plenty of variety, can enjoy exciting walks, romp with canine friends, and run across meadows and fields, can snuggle comfortably in his own little bed and recover from the exciting day, where play and fun are provided, he is spoiled with plenty of cuddles, and he also gets enough rest periods. Whoever gives this young fellow their time and love will gain a loyal companion for life. As with all our charges, Remig will of course not be placed in kennel housing.

About Remig

What life with Remig looks like

Remig is a puppy vizsla dog waiting at Vizsla in Not e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Remig, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Remig?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vizsla in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Remig on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Remig if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vizsla in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Remig already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Remig isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vizsla in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Remig and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
