Ria

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Ria was born on November 10, 2023. She is vaccinated and microchipped. Compatible with dogs: yes; compatible with cats: unknown. A heartless person wanted to drown the little family in the Danube. But just in time, a kind-hearted person noticed the terrible act. He bravely intervened and saved Ria and her puppies - giving them the chance of a new life. Today, Ria lives with her small family at our shelter in Romania and lovingly cares for her puppies. She is a very special mother: caring, gentle, friendly and incredibly balanced. She approaches people openly and lovingly, also showing herself obedient and pleasant to deal with. Despite her calm nature, once she has settled into her new home and gained trust, she will certainly show her cheerful, lively and agile side. With a shoulder height of about 51 cm, she belongs to the medium-sized dogs and has a slender, elegant figure. Ria has a small beauty flaw with great charm: she has a slight underbite, which makes her even more lovable. For us, this is what makes her unique - because true beauty comes from within. After everything that Ria had to experience, we wish for her nothing more than a loving home where she can finally experience how beautiful a dog's life can be. People who never leave her behind again, give her security and love her as a full-fledged family member. Ria has so much love to give. Now all she needs is one thing: her own family. Who will give this wonderful dog the happy ending she so richly deserves? Almost all our dogs in Romania are extremely friendly towards people, dogs and cats. Nevertheless, it should be considered that all dogs must be educated and integrated into family life in their new home. If you would like to give Ria a home, please call one of our phone numbers: In a personal conversation we can answer questions and discuss our mediation criteria. Our dogs are preferably placed within 80 km of Tholey

About Ria

What life with Ria looks like

Ria is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at TierOase ThoMa e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ria, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ria?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. TierOase ThoMa e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ria on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ria if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — TierOase ThoMa e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ria already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ria isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with TierOase ThoMa e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ria and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
