Yuki

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 8 months

Yuki came to us at the animal shelter because her previous owners were overwhelmed by her. Yuki is an insecure, yet very curious dog lady. In her previous life, she probably did not get to experience much, which is why unfamiliar situations are often suspicious to her. She also needs time to trust people. She generally gets along well with other animals, but the effects of poor or no socialization during her puppyhood are clearly visible. However, Yuki has already made great progress at our animal shelter and now enjoys playing in the dog group with other dogs. Yuki is looking for a quiet new home without children, cats, or other animals, where she can settle in peace. She needs people who give her the necessary time, much empathy, and a loving and consistent upbringing. Attending a dog training class is mandatory for Yuki. This will not only strengthen the bond between dog and person, but will also help Yuki cope better with new situations. Leisibachstrasse 16037 Root041 450 00 Monday - Friday:

About Yuki

What life with Yuki looks like

Yuki is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim an der Ron.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yuki, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yuki?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim an der Ron handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yuki on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yuki if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim an der Ron will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Yuki already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yuki isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim an der Ron early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yuki and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
