Adopt Rillow

Jack Russell Terrier · Female · Adult · 8 years

Rillow has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. When she first arrived she was a very shy little girl who was very worried and overwhelmed to find herself here. Since then she has started to come out of her shell and her confidence has started to grow. She will now quietly approach you, especially if you have treats, and is happy to sit nearby you. Rillow will be looking for a calm and quiet home where she can settle in at her own pace. She will need at least one other kind and confident resident dog in her new home to take her under their wing and help show her that the world is not such a scary place. She will need a secure garden and adopters with experience of ex-breeding dogs previously,. As Rillow has never lived in a home before, she will need patient adopters who can guide her through house training, lead walking, and all the everyday basics of home life. Rillow has had a cyst removed from her left shoulder and on her back near her spine at the time of her spay. With kindness, reassurance, and a steady canine companion by her side, Rillow has every chance of becoming a devoted and gentle little friend to someone very special. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Rillow

What life with Rillow looks like

Rillow is a small adult jack russell terrier dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Ex-breeding dog requiring patient rehabilitation, needs secure garden, had cyst removal surgery

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rillow, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rillow?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rillow on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rillow if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rillow already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rillow isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rillow and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
