Rollo

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

🐾 Hello, I'm Rollo! Hi friends! I'm Rollo, a big-hearted dog who's still a bit battered by life. Today, what I want more than anything is to leave the shelter and finally discover the warmth of a home, in a foster family (or even better 💙). Ready to extend your paw? I was saved in November 2022 during the dismantling of a breeding facility where animal welfare was unfortunately nonexistent. I wasn't socialized, I didn't go out much... and what they called "training" there was more like beatings. Since then, I've been in the shelter with my friend Gisla, where we are well taken care of, but time is starting to drag... It's time for me to move on to the next step: real life, with a couch, patience, tenderness, and a dog friend. 🏡 I need a calm, patient, and kind home that will take the time to get to know me at my own pace. I'm very shy at first, but once I trust you, I become a lovely, affectionate dog. Well, I prefer to be honest: sometimes, even after several meetings and treats, there are people I just can't seem to like. That's just how I am, I have my own little character. 😅 A secure, enclosed yard is essential so I can run and feel good. And above all, I need the presence of another dog who's confident and sure of themselves to help me feel safe and progress. My future home must be attentive and ready to follow the advice of the animal behaviorist who is helping me. I get along well with dogs and also with children who respect my space and my needs. ❌ However, I am not compatible with cats or small animals. With patience, respect, and lots of love, I will become a loyal, sensitive, and deeply grateful companion. 💙 🍼 Date of birth: 06/11/2020 🐶 Breed: Czechoslovakian Wolf Dog 💡 Identified (250 26 85 01 82 54 13), vaccinated, spayed. 📍 Location: 28 ✅ To adopt me, we'll ask you for a contribution of 300 €. About Rollo

What life with Rollo looks like

Rollo is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Brigade Animale Bénévole in brigade animale benevole.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rollo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rollo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Brigade Animale Bénévole handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rollo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rollo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Brigade Animale Bénévole will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rollo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rollo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Brigade Animale Bénévole early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rollo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
