Rolo

Staffordshire Bull Terrier · Male · Adult · 5 years

Rolo is looking for a quieter home where he can have a snooze in his soft bed during the evening, but have fun-filled walks during the day where he can get his nose to the ground. He is a super dog, with a lot of love to give. Rolo would like to be cuddled up on the sofa with a blanket and his people, but also enjoys playing with his tuggy toys and snuggling up with a teddy. He is lookin for an understanding home that are willing to work on building up his time alone slowly, and making sure he feels happy and secure in his new home. We can't wait to see him thrive. Meet our handsome boy, Rolo! Rolo is a 5-year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier looking for his forever home. He is an utter sweetheart, loving everyone he meets! He loves a fuss and will jump up for a cuddle, so is looking for all children in the home to be 11yrs+ and comfortable around dogs that jump up. Rolo is unable to live with other dogs as he doesn't enjoy them being in his face, but can have polite sniffs with quiet, calm dogs. Rolo would be looking for a family that are around for most of the day, as he isn't used to being left on his own. Once settled, he will need someone willing to build up his time alone nice and slowly. Rolo is good on the lead, but can pull when something is very exciting and enjoys exploring new places where he can get his sniffs in! He wears a harness and is great with all sorts of handling - veterinary included! He travels well in the car, so would make a wonderful adventure buddy. He is also house-trained, which is a bonus.

About Rolo

What life with Rolo looks like

Rolo is a adult staffordshire bull terrier dog waiting at Dogs Trust Cardiff in Cardiff.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rolo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rolo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Cardiff handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rolo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rolo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Cardiff will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rolo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rolo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Cardiff early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rolo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
