Adopt Romina

Unknown · Young · 3 years

Update 02.05.2026 Romina has been very lucky and was able to travel to a loving and very experienced foster home in Kiel. She has already arrived well and is looking forward to the long-awaited cuddles. We will soon report on her further development. During a visit to Sardinia in April, I met Romina in person and was immediately enchanted by the kind and lively cat. It was obvious how much she enjoys attention from people, and now she can fully enjoy it at the foster home. Nevertheless, the beautiful Romina is looking for her own home, and I would be very happy to receive your message or a call. The charming tortoiseshell Romina was found as a stray in a high-rise estate in Olbia. Probably she was no longer wanted there, and so she was brought to our partner animal shelter L.I.D.A. Our lucky cat is very friendly and loves to be petted - she really enjoys the company of people. Her wonderfully patterned fur makes her a real eye-catcher. Romina wishes for a cat companion in her new home, with whom she can play, run around and snuggle. She can also bring her friend Angela from the animal shelter. She wants to explore the world outside and experience small adventures. Therefore, she is looking for a home with free access in a low-traffic area. Romina is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. She is ready to move into her new home and share her happiness with her humans. I look forward to your message. This cat needs outdoor access.

About Romina

What life with Romina looks like

Romina is a large young adult cat waiting at PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Romina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Romina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Romina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Romina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Romina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Romina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Romina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
