Roni

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

Roni is a young, lively male who is full of energy and wants to discover the world. Before coming to the shelter, he wandered alone through the streets for days. He now enjoys the safety and attention of people all the more. The small to medium-sized dog shows himself friendly, open and curious. He is still a bit unruly and needs to learn the basics of dog behavior first. With loving, consistent upbringing and sufficient exercise, Roni will surely grow into a wonderful companion. He loves long walks, games and movement and looks for people who enjoy being active with him. He meets other dogs interestedly and friendly, without showing aggression. For families with children from 12 years we can also imagine him well. Roni brings lots of joie de vivre and is just waiting to start a new adventure together with his humans. Glück für Pfoten e.V. - The Way into a New Life - Tel. and WhatsApp: Mail: Adoption fee: €490 incl. safety harness As we are employed, we may not be able to get back to you until some hours later. It is best to contact the above-mentioned mediator in writing (by e-mail or WhatsApp) first and ask for a callback (don't forget to mention your phone number if necessary). Please be patient! Our protégés travel with Traces and are only placed in Germany (nationwide). If you would like to apply for a dog and live in a rented accommodation, please arrange a written landlord certificate stating that the keeping of an (additional or new) dog is permitted. We place dogs up to the 2nd floor if there is no elevator available, to prevent health problems.

About Roni

What life with Roni looks like

Roni is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Glück für Pfoten e.V. in Dortmund.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Roni, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Roni?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Glück für Pfoten e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Roni on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Roni if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Glück für Pfoten e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Roni already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Roni isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Glück für Pfoten e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Roni and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
