Ronnie

Collie · Male · Puppy

Meet our gorgeous 16-week-old German Shepherd cross puppy, a clever, affectionate boy who is already showing just how much potential he has.He is an absolute master of “sit” and, like most puppies, will do almost anything when there is a tasty treat involved! He is crate trained, sleeps beautifully through the night and is making fantastic progress in his puppy classes. He is eager to learn, food motivated and would really benefit from a family who is excited to continue his training and help him grow into a confident, well-mannered adult dog. This little adventurer loves getting out and about and enjoys plenty of walks, exploring and new experiences throughout the day. He is looking for an active home where he can enjoy regular adventures, enrichment and all the fun that comes with having a young, energetic puppy. As you would expect at 16 weeks old, he is still very much a typical puppy and can sometimes be a little mouthy when he gets excited. Because of this, we feel he would be best suited to a home with teenage children who are confident around larger, playful puppies. He could potentially live with another suitable dog and may also be able to live with dog-savvy cats following careful introductions. He can already be left for short periods, although he is still learning that being home alone is nothing to worry about, so his new family will need to continue building this up gradually. He really is a wonderful young dog with so much love, enthusiasm and personality to give. With continued training, plenty of adventures and a family willing to invest time in him, we think he is going to grow into an incredible companion.

About Ronnie

What life with Ronnie looks like

Ronnie is a puppy/kitten collie dog waiting at RSPCA Cornwall Branch in Saint Columb.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ronnie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ronnie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Cornwall Branch handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ronnie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ronnie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA Cornwall Branch will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ronnie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ronnie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Cornwall Branch early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ronnie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
