Rosa

Female · Adult · 6 years

Hi, I'm Rosa. Most of my life I've spent in an animal shelter. Fortunately, I have my brother Triki next to me, who helps me get through difficult moments. When I was younger, I was adopted along with my brother. For a year we were in a warm home with our beloved caregiver. However, after a year, for no reason, we ended up in an animal shelter again. I can tell you about myself that in the first contacts with people I am cautious. I try to gradually reduce the distance, but once I trust, I'll tell you that I love to show my tummy for scratching. I prefer walking trips rather than using a car, but if needed, I can manage. In the house I keep it clean and don't destroy anything. I love walks through meadows, fields or other trails, of course on a long leash, because then I can enjoy more freedom. And if during a walk there is some nice water (a stream, pond or puddle), I am overjoyed. I dream of a home, preferably with a garden or an apartment, but somewhere away from the noise and crowd of a big city, so that from the apartment I can do three quick laps and be among the greenery. Other dogs are not scary for me, sometimes I bark at them. I don't have to make friends with anyone, after all I have my brother, with whom I get along best and we play together. All we need is a good family, because we have been looking for a home for a long time already. If you decide to adopt, only in a pair. We are inseparable.

About Rosa

What life with Rosa looks like

Rosa is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Must be adopted together with brother Triki - bonded pair

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rosa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rosa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rosa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rosa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rosa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rosa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rosa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
