Rosie

Female · Adult · 6 years

Support and Health How much training will I need? Needs ongoing support Can I be left alone? Potentially, once settled In her previous home, Rosie could be left for a few hours and would happily snooze on the sofa. As she lived with another dog, this will be her first time being left alone, so any time home alone should be introduced gradually once she has settled in. Do I have any medical conditions? Existing conditions Rosie has two current medical conditions, namely skin allergies and ophthalmic eye abnormality (which doesn’t affect her vision,) that will require consideration before this pet is rehomed. She also has a historical medical condition of otitis externa. Our rehoming team will be able to give you further information if you apply to rehome them and you are a successful match. We would also advise that any medical conditions, be that historic or ongoing, are discussed with your own vet prior to taking them home. Due to the nature of the medical condition, a vet call with one of our onsite vets will be required before the pet goes home. Who I can live with Can I live with dogs? No Can I live with cats? No Can I live with small pets? Yes, conditionally - Rosie could potentially live with securely housed small pets which she won't have access too. Additional information Rosie can bark at other dogs when they get too close out on walks, as she can feel worried in these situations. She is making good progress with her training and this should be continued in her new home. Rosie would love quieter walks where she can enjoy plenty of sniffing and relaxed one-to-one time with her owner. Family and environment What kind of family am I looking for? Rosie would be best suited to a home with children aged 11 and over. She is a sweet girl who enjoys gentle fuss and affection, but can feel worried with some handling, so it is important that her boundaries are understood and respected. What type of environment would suit me? Rosie would like a secure, private garden to enjoy spending some outdoor time in. About Rosie Rosie is an incredibly affectionate girl who absolutely adores people. She loves nothing more than being by your side and soaking up all the love and attention you can give her. She really is a sweetheart who doesn’t ask for much – just a cosy place to relax and someone to share her days with. Out on walks, Rosie loves having a gentle plod besides you and taking in all the amazing sniffs on offer! Around the home, she’s happiest when snoozing in a comfy spot on the sofa or enjoying plenty of fuss. Her gentle nature makes her wonderful company, and she’s sure to bring lots of love to her forever family.

About Rosie

What life with Rosie looks like

Rosie is a small adult dog waiting at Woodgreen Pets Charity in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rosie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rosie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Woodgreen Pets Charity handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rosie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rosie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Woodgreen Pets Charity will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rosie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rosie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Woodgreen Pets Charity early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rosie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
