Adopt Roslyn

German Shepherd · Female · Senior · 10 years

Friendly, people-oriented, obedient. Roslyn was found alone on the street. Her owners had left the country and simply left the old female dog behind. Lost and confused, she wandered around until she was finally brought to our veterinarian, who then contacted us. The loving female German Shepherd is very people-oriented and suffers greatly from living in the animal shelter. Despite her fate, she has maintained her friendly nature and seeks the company of her humans. Roslyn is generally compatible with other dogs, but we would prefer to rehome her as a single dog. She tends to dominate other dogs, which can sometimes lead to minor disagreements. Roslyn is blind or possibly only sees faint outlines. However, she manages surprisingly well in daily life and climbs stairs very safely. She needs people who meet her with calmness, understanding, and love and give her the necessary security. For Roslyn we are looking for a loving refuge in a quiet, rural environment, ideally with a garden where she can relax and enjoy her surroundings. We are looking for genuine German Shepherd lovers with big hearts who would like to give Roslyn a few more beautiful years. Who will give this special soul the chance to finally arrive?

About Roslyn

What life with Roslyn looks like

Roslyn is a large senior german shepherd dog waiting at A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. in Greece.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇬🇷Adopting from Greece

Greek shelters often partner with Northern European rescue groups for placements. Animals are sterilized, vaccinated, and chipped before adoption. Fees vary widely depending on whether the shelter is municipal or NGO-run.

Frequently asked

Adopting Roslyn, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Roslyn?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Roslyn on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Roslyn if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Roslyn already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Roslyn isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Roslyn and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
