adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Rosmarin has found his people! His story: Rosmarin seemed to have been waiting to travel to his foster home. He was not very friendly welcomed by the family dog, but that didn't bother the calm Rosmarin. He retreated, didn't react to the growling, and after a short time, the two became best friends. Rosmarin also reacts the same way to cats. On the leash, Rosmarin can walk very well, but if something exciting is in front of him, he can sometimes speed up because he wants to get to it. At dog encounters, he barks because he wants to make friends with them. He loves to play and run for his life, is also protective, and is careful when the dog is smaller. He is a clever fellow and learns quickly; he also quickly learned to alert when he needs to go out. He can already stay alone well with the only dog. The sweet one loves to cuddle; he is very happy and is a ray of sunshine for his family. Rosmarin doesn't know children in his vicinity yet, but when they are older, that shouldn't be a problem either. It was expected that he would still not be fully mobile due to his femur head operation. But the opposite was true; Rosmarin moves as if he had no problem, he only receives physical therapy for muscle building. Rosmarin is about 2.5 years old and has a medium size of around 56 cm. A bilateral femoral head resection was performed on him. This means the surgical removal of the entire femoral head and neck from the femur. It is an uncomplicated procedure performed on dogs and cats. A fibrous connection forms between the pelvis and the femur. This connection allows the dog a pain-free and appropriate quality of life. Important postoperative care includes physical therapy, which strengthens the musculoskeletal system and builds muscle. For Rosmarin, we wish a loving and empathetic family who will continue to accompany him after a proper adjustment period, support his recovery process with physical therapy, and give him a beautiful dog life. Rosmarin will be vaccinated, treated for fleas, dewormed, neutered, and microchipped in his new home and also has his EU pet passport in his luggage. He will be rehomed for a reduced adoption fee of 325 Euros. Thank you, Silvie S.! You gave Rosmarin this unique name and thus an identity. Thank you, Claudia K.! Vielen Dank Claudia K.! Du unterstützt Rosmarin mit einer monatlichen Patenschaft! Stand: 18.04.2024

About Rosmarin

What life with Rosmarin looks like

Rosmarin is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rosmarin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rosmarin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rosmarin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rosmarin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rosmarin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rosmarin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rosmarin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
