Adopt Roxi

Female · Puppy

Roxi's story breaks your heart: Her older owner passed away, the house was sold, and the sweet female dog was simply left alone in the garden by the heirs. The new owner reached out to our Hungarian partner shelter and temporarily cared for her until a spot became available. At the animal shelter, it now shows that Roxi has likely never experienced real love, cuddles, or attentions from her previous owner. She must have kept herself occupied in the garden all those years. Roxi shows a great deal of independence here, does not seek attention, and is not the typical lap dog that dispenses kisses. But she is starting to seek out the closeness of her caretakers and enjoy it. Affection is simply new to her – yet one can already see that she will quickly adapt to a loving life. Outside of the enclosure, Roxi is quite active. She jumps and dashes through the enclosure, but does not play. On the leash, she already walks beautifully. She pulls not and walks obediently right beside her person. She loves going for walks, sniffing the world, and listening attentively to every sound. With other dogs, she is consistently compatible. For a household with already present cats and other small animals, Roxi is not suitable. She shows a very intrusive and interested behavior. We hope so much that someone will fall in love with her and integrate her into their family, so she can finally experience what it is like to live in a real family. The sweet Roxi is, of course, already neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and has a veterinary check-up. She also has an EU pet passport. The handover could take place on June 27, 2026, in Berlin or alternatively in the Stuttgart area, should someone fall in love with her and wish to give her a – forever home! As always, we would like to remind you that a dog from abroad requires time, patience, and an absolutely loving arrival. New impressions, routines, and bonds must grow in peace. Those who are ready to go this path without pressure with Roxi will be rewarded with a very deep, sincere connection. Roxi is ready to finally experience what it feels like to be a valued and loved member of a real family. Key Info: Name: Roxi Breed: this breed Gender: female dog neutered Date of Birth: June 9, 2017 Shoulder Height: ca. 40 cm

About Roxi

What life with Roxi looks like

Roxi is a puppy/kitten dog waiting at animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen in Ketzin.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Roxi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Roxi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Roxi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Roxi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Roxi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Roxi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Roxi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
