Roz

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

RozFemale dog, small in size. Approx. 2 years old (November 2026). Clever and sociable girl who loves people and other dogs. Meet RozRoz was being kept in a separate kennel in the pound ahead of being returned to the streets after spaying. She had the sweetest expression on her face, almost as if she were smiling, quietly asking for help and patiently waiting. Luckily, our rescuer spotted her just in time, and we were able to stop her being returned to the streets. She initially shared her kennel with her friend Boo, who sadly became seriously ill and died despite treatment. His loss was heartbreaking, and we desperately want Roz to have the happy ending she deserves. Roz is a very friendly, intelligent and sociable girl. She loves people and gets on very well with other dogs. Roz is looking for a loving home where she will never have to wait for help again. She has so much love to give and deserves to spend the rest of her life feeling safe, loved and cherished. Roz is safe in the pound, but she cannot leave her enclosure for exercise. Moving into a pension would give her more space, companionship and daily exercise, and once she has an adopter, it also allows the BU team to prepare her for travel. BU supports the pound with the help of our lovely pound sponsors to supply additional food, vaccines, flea and tick treatments and veterinary care when needed. A message from Roz: “I do not live a great life in the pound. I do not leave my enclosure, and the BU team cannot prepare me for travel while I am here. If you would like to adopt me, a contribution towards sponsoring me into a pension would help me take the first step towards home. A pension is a place where I will receive better care, spend time with other dogs, exercise daily and be prepared for travel. The average cost of keeping me safe in a pension is around €60 a month. Thank you, love and licks from Roz. ” Roz is spayed, vaccinated and negative on tests. Our dogs are tested for the following conditions as part of our standard testing procedure - Heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichiosis and Brucellosis (Since 11th June 2021). About Roz

What life with Roz looks like

Roz is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Balkan Underdogs in Tirana.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇦🇱Adopting from Albania

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Roz, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Roz?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Balkan Underdogs handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Roz on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Roz if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Balkan Underdogs will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Roz already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Roz isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Balkan Underdogs early rather than rehoming privately; they know Roz and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
