Rożek

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 7 months

We are looking for a temporary or permanent home. What is a temporary home? You can read about it here -> Rożek was born in 2019 and weighs 22 kg. He arrived at the shelter in Dopiewo (near Poznań) in July 2026 - neglected and scared after experiences with his previous caregiver. Currently, he is just learning about his new reality and needs time to regain a sense of security. Rożek is waiting for a caregiver who will show him patience and care. At the shelter, he is regaining his balance thanks to walks with volunteers. It is during these walks that he can sniff at will, get to know his surroundings and enjoy the moment without haste. He would certainly find it easier to settle in a house in a quiet area than in the midst of city noise. He is friendly towards humans, although you can still see a shadow of fear and reserve in him. He needs time to fully trust. He may live in a house with older children who will respect his space. Rożek communicates very well with other dogs, he is patient, but he also knows how to set boundaries. He may live with other dogs or be the only dog in the family. Initial tests showed minor problems with the pancreas. He is currently undergoing further diagnostics.

Szukamy domu tymczasowego lub stałego. Na czym polega dom tymczasowy? Przeczytasz tutaj -> Rożek urodził się w 2019 roku i waży 22 kg. Do schroniska w Dopiewie (k. Potrzebuje czasu, by w pełni zaufać.

About Rożek

What life with Rożek looks like

Rożek is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rożek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rożek?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rożek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rożek if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rożek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rożek isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rożek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
