Rudi

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

Rudi is a beautiful, neutered male who has finally made the leap to a German foster home after a long wait in the overcrowded animal shelter in Bulgaria. With a shoulder height of approximately 47 cm and a weight of about 17 kg, he has a pleasant, medium size and has settled in beautifully in his foster home in just a few days. According to his passport, he was born in 2018, but due to his behavior and nature, he is estimated to be significantly younger. In Bulgaria, a tumor was successfully removed from his rear end, and this stroke of luck paved the way for him to come to Germany, where he has already stolen the heart of his foster family. Behind his initial shyness and fear is actually a thoroughly cheerful, cuddly and great guy. At home, Rudi behaves very quietly, has so far been completely housebroken and can also handle being alone quite well. The handsome male with button eyes is an absolutely uncomplicated companion in everyday life, as he loves cats and has so far gotten along with every dog without exception. Rudi is a gentle prize who now wants people who can help him build trust and show him what a real dog life full of love and security is like. An existing dog buddy is welcome to wait for him in the new home. 🟢Interested? Please fill out our self-assessment

🟢Interesse? Bitte fülle unsere Selbstauskunft aus

About Rudi

What life with Rudi looks like

Rudi is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Notfellchen Rumänien e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rudi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rudi?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Notfellchen Rumänien e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rudi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rudi if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Notfellchen Rumänien e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Rudi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rudi isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Notfellchen Rumänien e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rudi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
