Both dogs are affectionate, cuddly and adore being close to their people. They love curling up together on the sofa in the evening and are sociable dogs who get on with the other dogs in the home. In true dachshund fashion, they like to use their voices when greeting newcomers, but they will settle if ignored. At the moment, they get most of their exercise chasing each other round a large, secure garden. This has kept them fit and happy, but means they haven’t had much experience walking on-lead or interacting with unknown dogs. Their new home therefore needs to have a secure garden where they can exercise safely and the commitment to continue their lead training. Rudy and Belle have lived with children and had no issues with them – they would be able to live with sensible, dog savvy children. Both dogs are in excellent health. They are house-trained (unless it’s really raining badly!), crate-trained and sleep at night with each other in a crate. Once settled in their new home, they can be left for a few hours. These two loving little dogs are ready for a calm, permanent home where they can enjoy plenty of cuddles and continue learning about the world together.
