adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Runa has found her home! Her story: Runa is only about two and a half to three years old – and yet she has already experienced more than any young dog would ever wish for. Together with her sister, she was rescued from difficult circumstances. Her sister was hit by a car and had to undergo surgery. Runa herself remained physically unharmed, but her gentle, cautious nature reveals that she too could not simply leave her past behind. At first, Runa meets new people with shyness and reserve. She needs a moment to understand that no one wants to harm her. But once she realizes she is safe, she warms up – and shows her delicate, friendly soul. Runa is never aggressive, always respectful and humble. She wants to please, she wants to trust, she wants to finally arrive. With other dogs, Runa is a real treasure. She has already lived with a male dog and a female dog and has always shown herself to be social and uncomplicated. Whether she likes cats, we still don't know – but her gentle nature gives hope that this could also work out. For her age, Runa is right in the middle of her life. Maybe she sometimes tests boundaries, maybe she still has to learn how a real home works – but she is ready. With loving, clear guidance, she will develop into a loyal companion who returns all her love. We wish for Runa a quiet, patient home, where she can gradually settle in. People who open their hearts to her, give her time, and show her that the world can also be beautiful. Whoever gives Runa this chance will be rewarded with a loyal, sensitive female dog who will eventually walk through life with full trust at your side. Runa is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. With her EU pet passport, she can travel after a positive result. Maybe you are exactly the person who gives Runa a home at last. Are you ready to win her heart?

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Sie will gefallen, sie will vertrauen, sie will endlich ankommen. Stand: 18.09.2025

About Runa

What life with Runa looks like

Runa is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Runa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Runa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Runa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Runa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Runa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Runa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Runa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
