Sacha

Labrador Retriever · Female · Young · 3 years

DATE OF BIRTH: 16/05/2023 BREED: LABRADOR RETRIEVER cross HEALTH: Due to her critical health condition when she was rescued (pregnant, with diarrhea, malnourished, pregnant again), Sasha has required maximum attention: multiple hospital admissions, many tests to find the causes of the diarrhea, and consequently many treatments. She is positive for visceral leishmaniasis and periodic controls are needed that may require specific treatment. It has left her internal organs very damaged, and she eats gastrointestinal food and takes lifelong medication. CHARACTER: She is a very young and independent little pup. She is shy and a bit scared at first but gradually opens up and when she gains confidence, she loves being pampered. She is calm and when she goes to the yard, if something bothers her, she avoids it. She needs a quiet environment and space to herself. Preferably a house with a garden. On the street and on a leash, she may react to other dogs. Sacha has gained self-esteem and improved a lot, but she needs good handling and should be accompanied by an educator who can guide how walks and interactions with other dogs and people should be. Sponsored by Patrícia Domínguez and Glòria Piñol Sacha was picked up in the street. She was pregnant. Since she was picked up, she had diarrhea. Many treatments were done that did not yield results, and therefore a more in-depth study was done to try to determine the origin and provide the most appropriate treatment. Due to these issues, her health was significantly deteriorated, so a blood transfusion was performed to enable a cesarean section, as a birth in such conditions would have resulted in her death. Born prematurely and having received medical treatment, the puppies survived for only a few hours. Thanks to the help of many people, we managed to cover almost all of her treatment costs. We are looking for a responsible and committed family, willing to follow the guidelines of our caregivers and educators.

Si quieres apadrinarla, acogerla o adoptarla escríbenos a

About Sacha

What life with Sacha looks like

Sacha is a young adult labrador retriever dog waiting at SOS Golden in Spain.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sacha, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sacha?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SOS Golden handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sacha on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sacha if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SOS Golden will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sacha already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sacha isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SOS Golden early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sacha and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
