Salali

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Salali, a tiny Saluki, is available for adoption at a foster home in Lübeck. She can be met in person and is eagerly awaiting your visit! Salali is part of a group of seven puppies who were rescued from difficult circumstances along with their brave mother. Together with her six siblings, she has been given the chance at a new life in safety. At the time of her rescue, Salali measured just 19 cm at the shoulder. She has grown slightly since then and is now around 25 to 28 cm tall. She is a particularly delicate, fine, and small puppy girl whose lovable nature immediately touches hearts. It is currently impossible to predict how big Salali will become. According to current information, we assume a medium final size, but an exact prediction is not possible.Like all puppies of her age, Salali is curious, playful, and eager to discover the world. At the same time, it should not be forgotten that she has not yet experienced many things that are taken for granted by many dogs. Life in a house, everyday noises, walks on a leash, car rides, or different environmental stimuli are new to her and must be explained step by step with patience and understanding. Being alone must also be learned gently. The pace of the dog plays a crucial role! We therefore look for people who have the time and patience to let Salani arrive at her own pace. Puberty is already on the horizon, and with it an exciting development phase in which much of what has been learned is suddenly questioned again. That is why we are looking for people who consciously decide on a puppy and are willing to lovingly accompany her through all stages of life.We are looking for a home for her that will not only win her heart, but will be a reliable partner for her for the next 14 to 15 years. People who will show her the world, take her by the paw, give her security, and grow with her. With time, patience, love, and a good dose of humor, Salali will grow into a wonderful companion who will give her family many happy years.Who falls in love with the delicate Salali and gives her a loving forever home?Salali is vaccinated and microchipped and will be placed with a protection contract after a positive preliminary inspection. Due to her age, she has not yet been spayed.Departure possible immediately! General note on our protégés: Our dogs in Romania are regularly visited so that we can always re-evaluate their behavior and development. These personal impressions help us very much to convey a picture of each individual dog that is as good as possible. Nevertheless, we would like to point out that a dog in a new environment - with new people, new routines, and new impressions - can also behave differently. This is quite normal and is part of every change process. Many dogs open up more quickly at home and show sides that were not visible in the shelter. Our assessments are therefore based on current observations, but are not a guarantee for every behavior in the new environment. They are intended to provide orientation and show how the dog presents himself in the shelter - and what potential he has.We are convinced: with patience, understanding, and a loving environment, every dog can find his way and develop positively.

About Salali

What life with Salali looks like

Salali is a puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Salali, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Salali?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Salali on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Salali if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Salali already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Salali isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Salali and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
