Sally
Shih Tzu · Female · Adult · 6 years
Sweet little Sally has come to us from a breeder to begin her search for a loving forever home. When she first arrived, she was understandably feeling a little worried to find herself here, but she has been trying so hard to be brave and has really started to come out of her shell. Sally is growing into the funniest and cutest little dog, and for such a small girl she certainly has a big personality that is beginning to shine through. Her confidence continues to grow, and she now happily enjoys receiving fuss and attention from people she knows and trusts. She has also made lovely progress with her harness training. While this was initially a brand-new experience for her, she now walks happily on her harness with people she feels comfortable with and enjoys exploring by their side. As with everything, she will need a little time to build the same confidence with her new family. Sally is a super little dog who is just waiting for someone to give her the time, patience and love she needs to continue building her confidence. With the right home and lots of kindness, we are sure she will blossom into a wonderful companion. She will be looking for a calm, kind and understanding home with adopters who are around most of the time and who will allow her to settle in at her own pace. She has never lived in a home before, so everything about family life will be new to Sally. She will need gentle guidance as she learns the routines of home life, including house training and continuing to build her confidence in new situations. Sally absolutely loves other dogs and gains a great deal of comfort from having canine friends around her. She will need another dog in her new home to help her feel secure, but she would prefer the company of a smaller male dog. Sally can be a little bossy with female dogs, so she is best suited to living with a male companion. She has also met a cat at the rescue and coped well (please see the video in her gallery!), so she could potentially live with a dog-savvy cat. This sweet little girl just needs someone to give her the chance she deserves, and we are sure she will repay that love tenfold with her own blossoming confidence and affectionate nature. Sally has a lick granuloma on her left front leg, which is healing, and an old scar on her left hip. She had an umbilical hernia repaired at the time of her spay and is currently being treated for bilateral conjunctivitis. This dog can be homed with a resident dog. This dog can be homed with cats.
