Adopt samiec

Mixed Breed · Male

Baks is a very intelligent, attentive dog who loves working with people. He easily learns new commands, and the one thing he looks forward to more than a treat for a job well done are affection and cuddles. This medium-sized, shepherd-like treasure is a true wellspring of love. He often demands (and expects!) petting, scratching on the belly and kisses - which he never denies to anyone. Despite seven long years spent in an animal shelter, he is a gentle dog who can get along with cats (he lives in a temporary home with two kittens). His behavior during walks is also admirable, he does not pull and can calmly walk past other dogs, although he is still diligently working on this. Even in emotional situations, he listens to the caregiver's instructions, often looking at them for support. From the beginning, he is more interested in sniffing bushes that he passes. Baks is a dog with a moderate need for activity. He sometimes gets scared by unexpected sounds, so he will certainly appreciate a quiet home without other dogs, located in a quiet area. Baks is a dog who shows with his whole being how much he can love. He dreams of a quiet home where he can finally rest from the shelter reality and enjoy the presence of his human every day. Anyone who once looks into his wise eyes will be lost forever. 📌Baksiu is staying in a temporary home near Poznan.

Od zaczepek bardziej interesuje go wąchanie mijanych krzaków. 📌Baksiu przebywa w domu tymczasowym w okolicach Poznania.

About samiec

What life with samiec looks like

samiec is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Kejtersi in Poznań.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting samiec, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about samiec?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Kejtersi handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw samiec on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt samiec if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Kejtersi will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is samiec already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if samiec isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Kejtersi early rather than rehoming privately; they know samiec and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
