Adopt Pies

Mixed Breed · Male

Żaczek is a small dog with a big heart. Happy, lively, full of energy. Once he gets to know someone well, he can love with all his heart. However, he is not the type that immediately jumps into arms. Life has taught him caution, so he needs a moment to trust new people. But when he feels safe - he gives his doggy heart completely. Walking is a real pleasure for him. He walks nicely on a leash, doesn't pull or tug, and calmly keeps up. Żaczek should be an only dog. He does not accept other dogs and is not fond of cats, so we are looking for a home for him where he will be the only pup and all the affection (and the couch) will be only for him. If you give him time and patience, you will gain a faithful companion for better and for worse. 📌Żaczek is in a foster home in Poznań.

Read original (pl)

Żaczek to mały piesek z wielkim sercem. 📌Żaczek przebywa w domu tymczasowym w Poznaniu.

About Pies

What life with Pies looks like

Pies is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Kejtersi in Poznań.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pies, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pies?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Kejtersi handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pies on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pies if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Kejtersi will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pies already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pies isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Kejtersi early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pies and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
