Sammie is a chihuahua who was surrendered to us because his previous owners didn't know how to deal with his anxious behavior. Sammie hasn't seen much of the world in his life. New situations, unknown places, and hustle can be quite challenging for him. Currently, he is staying in a foster family, where he has the peace and space to continue blossoming. What we do know for sure is that Sammie loves going on walks. His foster family is building this up gradually: first on quiet places and step by step also in slightly busier environments. This way, Sammie learns at his own pace that the world isn't as scary as it seems. We are looking for people who can continue this journey with Sammie. People who are patient, don't overwhelm him, and gently guide him to discover that he can enjoy life. Sammie can still learn a lot and deserves the chance to finally be a real dog. He gets along well with small puppies. Big dogs are still quite challenging for him at the moment. He also knows cats; he doesn't react to them. Sammie doesn't play yet; that's something he can still learn. Playing can help him gain more confidence and stand stronger in the world. Sammie is searching for a quiet, warm home where he can grow at his own pace. With the right people by his side, he can still fully blossom.

Sammie is een chihuahua die bij ons werd afgestaan omdat zijn vorige eigenaars niet goed wisten hoe ze met zijn angstige gedrag moesten omgaan. Sammie heeft in zijn leven nog niet veel van de wereld gezien. Nieuwe situaties, onbekende plaatsen en drukte kunnen voor hem dan ook erg spannend zijn. Momenteel verblijft hij in een opvanggezin, waar hij rustig de tijd en ruimte krijgt om verder open te bloeien. Wat we wel al zeker weten, is dat Sammie graag mee op pad gaat. Zijn opvanggezin bouwt dit heel rustig op: eerst op rustige plaatsen en stap voor stap ook in iets drukkere omgevingen. Zo leert Sammie op zijn eigen tempo dat de wereld helemaal niet zo eng hoeft te zijn. Voor Sammie zoeken we mensen die dit verder willen zetten. Mensen die geduld hebben, hem niet overvragen en hem met zachte begeleiding laten ontdekken dat hij mag genieten van het leven. Sammie kan nog heel veel leren en verdient de kans om eindelijk echt hond te mogen zijn. Met kleine hondjes kan Sammie goed overweg. Grote honden vindt hij op dit moment nog erg spannend. Katten kent hij ook; daar reageert hij niet op. Spelen kent Sammie momenteel nog niet. Ook dat is iets wat hij nog mag leren, want spel kan hem helpen om meer zelfvertrouwen te krijgen en sterker in de wereld te staan. Sammie zoekt een rustige, warme thuis waar hij op zijn tempo mag groeien. Met de juiste mensen aan zijn zijde kan hij nog helemaal openbloeien.
