Olivia

Chihuahua · Female · Young · 3 years

Here you will find more photos and videos of Olivia 15.03.2026 The little Olivia was bought by a young woman, completely thoughtlessly by a breeder in Southern Spain. Since the young woman shared the apartment with a friend who wanted a dog, she surrendered Olivia to the animal shelter. A little while later, Olivia was adopted by a lady from Bilbao. However, she returned Olivia after a month because the little Olivia wouldn't lift her head from anyone. Fortunately, the little Olivia was moved to a loving animal welfare friend in the province of Cantabria, to the countryside. At first, Oliva was very afraid. My animal welfare friend gave her the necessary time to open up. This is now a year ago. Olivia loves other, compatible dogs, which can help her build trust with people. Once Oliva settles in, she can show her happy and playful side. Currently, Olivia lives with other dogs and a dog-experienced cat. We wish for sensitive, patient people for the little Olivia, who will give her the time to open up and enjoy her life. My animal welfare colleague would keep Oliva. She lets her go, however, if we find the right home for the little princess. We will only place Oliva in a very dog-experienced, very sensitive, and patient home, and this will be thoroughly checked. Olivia must not have another bad upbringing!. This animal can be anxious in unfamiliar situations.

Olivia darf keine weitere, schlechte Erahrung machen!

About Olivia

What life with Olivia looks like

Olivia is a young adult chihuahua dog waiting at Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten in Arme Pfoten.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Olivia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Olivia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Olivia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Olivia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Olivia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Olivia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten early rather than rehoming privately; they know Olivia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
