adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Scottie has found his people! His story: Scottie is a delicate little bundle with soft, light beige fur, a sweet black nose, and button eyes that melt any heart in seconds. Unfortunately, these eyes also reflect stories of fear and loss. And yes – his two ears were cut off, a sad souvenir from a past he can thankfully leave behind. But don't worry, little Scottie – this time it's not "Beam me up," but: We beam YOU out of the winter shelter and right into your new, good life! Scottie and his sister were found abandoned and of course immediately brought to our animal shelter in Fantanele. He is currently around 5–6 months old, just under 50 cm tall, and likely still has a bit of growth in him. Scottie is friendly, loving, and at the same time a bit reserved. Not a go-getter, not a chaos comet, not a whirlwind in dog form. He is more of the type "I'll observe everything from a safe distance first – it could all be very suspiciously nice." He gets along exceptionally well with other dogs. And if you want to know how he stands with cats – we can gladly test his reaction to one of the cats in the vicinity and observe. Scottie wishes for a home where he can finally arrive in peace. People who say: "No stress, little one – we'll do it at your pace." Those who know that a dog without a past doesn't exist, but a dog with a future can become anything. And people who can live with the fact that during puppyhood, a dog's programs are sometimes reset – including "I'll just forget everything I learned yesterday." For the end goal is for Scottie to simply be a normal young dog, running around, having nonsense in his head, and discovering life. A dog training class that works with positive reinforcement would be a great companion on his mobility journey to adulthood. Maybe you are exactly this one heart that crosses his path? Imagine sitting next to him one day, his little paw lying on your hand, and he looks at you with his beautiful button eyes as if to say: "Mission human found – and I stay." Scottie can travel starting mid-December. Until then, he is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, and has an EU pet passport. After a positive Also a foster home would be a significant step in his new life for him! Scottie is ready for his second chance. And ready to give his heart – maybe to you? Many thanks Tanja B.! You gave Scottie his name! Date: 23.11.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Tanja B.! Du hast Scottie seinen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 23.11.2025

About Scottie

What life with Scottie looks like

Scottie is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Scottie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Scottie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Scottie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Scottie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Scottie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Scottie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Scottie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
