Sebastian

European Shorthair · Unknown · Young · 1 year

Update April 2026 Sebastian has now moved to one of the outdoor enclosures. I visited him in April and honestly: I almost didn't recognize him. Because exactly he, the then somewhat reserved young tomcat, was the first to greet us joyfully and rubbed his head gently against our legs. The handsome tiger absorbs every affection like a sponge. He enjoys even the smallest caress with closed eyes and a soft purr. And yet he is never intrusive – he is simply incredibly kind, gentle, and a real treasure. It's all the more sad that Sebastian has to spend most of his time without human contact in the enclosure. No one to play with, no one to stroke him, as he wishes and deserves so much. Sebastian gets along very well with his fellow residents. He is a social, friendly young tomcat who avoids conflicts and loves harmony. He can also imagine a loving coexistence with cat-friendly children. In his new home, there should already be a cat of a similar age – or Sebastian will simply bring a suitable friend from Sardinia. If you would like to give this wonderful tomcat a home, please feel free to contact me. Sebastian is ready to travel and is longing for the people who will finally show him how beautiful a home can be. Update March 2026 The dear Sebastian is still longingly waiting in the cage with Monda for some variety from the monotonous daily routine and thus the journey to a home of his own. The handsome tiger tomcat has now been neutered and tested negative for FIV and FelV. His travel arrangements are now no longer an issue – only the home is still missing… Contact me quickly if you cannot resist his gaze.

Sebasti

About Sebastian

What life with Sebastian looks like

Sebastian is a young adult european shorthair cat waiting at PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sebastian, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sebastian?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sebastian on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sebastian if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sebastian already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sebastian isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sebastian and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
