Sergio &#8211

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Sergio is an approximately one-year-old (as of August 2025), handsome male dog with long legs and a athletic build. His cheerful, open nature makes him a true sunbeam in the daily life of dogs. Sergio is a true team player, rarely ever alone – his many doggy friends are almost always by his side. Sergio stands out due to his friendly nature. He meets two- and four-legged beings with an unmatched openness and without reservation. He is always curious, very trainable, and always ready to face new experiences bravely. Sergio especially loves walks and already shows a calm and leash-friendly demeanor for a young dog. He enjoys movement, is active and athletic, but also the cuddle times do not come too short – he cuddles for his life. His social side shows not only in his interactions with his own kind: Sergio always seeks the company of humans, is friendly, contact-seeking, and humorous. For play, training, or shared adventures, he is always eager and remains attentive and eager to learn. Sergio is also well-suited for dog beginners. His simple, open nature makes the transition to life with a four-legged companion easier. It is important that his future humans are active, bring enough time for a young dog, and have fun with movement and shared mental stimulation. His new home should challenge and foster the athletic young dog, offer variety and closeness. Company is very important to Sergio – he should not have to be alone for long periods. Whether individual, couple, or family: Whoever wants a cheerful, active, and cuddly companion will gain a true lifelong friend with Sergio. Sergio is looking for people who are ready to go through thick and thin with him, give him support and security, and together create a happy future. Whoever feels called, is welcome to contact us – Sergio is looking forward to adopting his own family!. Walks well on a leash.

Sergio sucht Menschen, die bereit sind, mit ihm durch dick und dünn zu gehen, ihm Halt und Geborgenheit zu geben und gemeinsam eine glückliche Zukunft zu gestalten. About Sergio &#8211

What life with Sergio &#8211 looks like

Sergio &#8211 is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sergio &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sergio &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sergio &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sergio &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sergio &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sergio &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sergio &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
