How do I contact the shelter about Shailin?

Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Shailin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.

Can I adopt Shailin if I live in another country?

Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.

Is Shailin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?

Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

What happens if Shailin isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Shailin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this cat! The beautiful black female cat Shailin was found with her brother alongside a street. Alone, hungry, cold, and exposed to the dangers of traffic, the two fought their way through. In our foster home, Shailin can finally breathe and begin her search for a warm, deserving home. Life on the street has not passed Shailin by unscathed. She is more shy and a little anxious at first meeting. She needs time to build trust and get accustomed to her people. But don't worry: even if she might hide or keep her distance at first, her heart will open up with a little time, calm, and lots of love. You can see that she longs for love, security, and attention. For Shailin, we wish for a home in a suitable apartment where at least one other cat lives or where she can move in together. The little one has simply had enough of street life. A cat friend who might be more accustomed to people or generally braver could help her settle in faster. During her travel arrangements, the black beauty is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas, and tested negative for FiV and FelV. She holds her EU pet passport ready and can take her first steps into a safe life with an adoption fee. If you take Shailin by the paw and show her how beautiful life can be, we look forward to your contact inquiry. Many thanks to Caro B. for giving Shailin her beautiful name and thus her identity! Date: 29.05. This cat is to be kept indoors only.

About Shailin

What life with Shailin looks like

Shailin is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.
