Adopt Sid

Male · Senior · 15 years

Sid is not a dog that will trust immediately, but he is also not aggressive - he just needs space, time and someone who won't rush anything. He is looking for a very experienced caregiver - a person who has already had contact with anxious dogs and knows what the socialization process looks like in practice. Someone who does not expect quick bonding, but can give the dog time to open up at his own pace. Ideally, if such a caregiver decides to start building a relationship even in the animal shelter, by visiting Sid and gradually gaining his trust. We are looking for a calm home - definitely without small children and noise. A home where Sid will be able to find his place, without being forced into contact that he is not ready for. He accepts other dogs, so canine companionship may be supportive for him. Due to his age and health condition (he is permanently treated cardiology), we are looking for a responsible caregiver, ready to continue veterinary care according to the recommendations of the animal shelter doctors.

About Sid

What life with Sid looks like

Sid is a small senior dog waiting at Funny Pets Czartki in Poland.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sid, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sid?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Funny Pets Czartki handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sid on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sid if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Funny Pets Czartki will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sid already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sid isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Funny Pets Czartki early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sid and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
