Simba &#8211

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Simba was taken in from very poor husbandry by a Spanish animal rescuer who works with the Spanish partner shelter "Refugio Perros Abandonados" in conjunction with the dog pension Grisette. His mother is allegedly a Border Collie mixed breed, and his father is a German Shepherd. More is not known about him. Simba is vaccinated, microchipped, and rehomed (if needed, with a prior visit by the prospective new home). He is currently in the dog pension Grisette in the Jura. For more information, see: If you are interested in Simba or any of our other dogs and would like to meet them informally, please apply informally with the application form of the dog pension Grisette at the number 0041 32 462 3219 (please leave a message and your phone number if you reach the answering machine) or via email at info@grisette.ch. We appreciate your understanding if the processing of your inquiry takes a little longer. We will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible. However, it may happen that we receive many inquiries at once or that our resources are temporarily urgently needed elsewhere. We will be in touch with you as soon as possible.

About Simba &#8211

What life with Simba &#8211 looks like

Simba &#8211 is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzbund Basel Regional.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Simba &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Simba &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzbund Basel Regional handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Simba &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Simba &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzbund Basel Regional will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Simba &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Simba &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzbund Basel Regional early rather than rehoming privately; they know Simba &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
