Simba - young male seeking understanding people Gender: male (not neutered) Country of origin: Switzerland Breed: not specified Weight: currently approx. 8kg Simba recently traveled to Switzerland from Bulgaria with his sister. Originally, more of his siblings were supposed to come to us, but they fell ill with parvovirus, tragically costing the puppies their lives. We are very glad that Simba and his sister were spared and now have the chance to find a home in Switzerland. Simba is a sensitive, lovable male who is a bit reserved in new situations. Since he has never known much, he likes to observe from a distance to see if everything is safe before he dares to approach the situation. He needs people who can give him security, not push him, and help him build self-confidence. He gets along well with other dogs and likes to orient himself towards them. He doesn't know the ABC of dogs yet and would like to attend dog school with his new people. He is just learning to walk on a leash and finds it a bit unfamiliar. With some patience and support from his caregivers, it's getting better. We wish for Simba a home with understanding people who give the young male the time he needs to settle in and build trust. Please read the following leaflet carefully to understand the needs of the respective animal species. If you are interested, fill out the application form and send it to . Important: Please only apply if you are ready for an adoption soon, not if you have holidays, a move, or something similar coming up. We want to prevent our protégés from staying in the animal shelter longer than necessary. Please understand that we will not consider or answer applications without a form or those that do not meet our criteria.

About Simba

What life with Simba looks like

Simba is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Tierpension Strubeli in Switzerland.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Simba, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Simba?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Tierpension Strubeli handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Simba on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Simba if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Tierpension Strubeli will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Simba already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Simba isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Tierpension Strubeli early rather than rehoming privately; they know Simba and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
