adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Simba has found a home! His story: Simba, Tiril, and Lou are three charming puppies waiting to leave the animal shelter in Baia Mare and begin a new, better life. The three need urgent support as they start a new life, as they are not meant to grow up in the noise and dirt of the shelter. The shelter is hopelessly overcrowded, and no one finds the time to properly care for the small dogs. Therefore, we have vowed not to rest until we know the puppies are in safety and have found a place with loving people who will care for and love them, showing them how beautiful life as a family dog can be. Simba is particularly friendly and open, and a typical playful, small male puppy. He loves playing with his siblings. Simba has soft, sand-colored fur and a black face mask, and he truly does resemble his famous namesake, the Lion Prince in the Disney film. With hopeful and confident eyes, he looks forward to his future. Simba is only 3.5 months old and will likely reach a medium size. Certainly, the handsome Simba will quickly settle into his new home, although of course, he has no experience with life as a house dog and knows little about house training and leash manners. But Simba is a very lively small male puppy who is always eager to please people. With lots of love, understanding, and positive reinforcement, he will learn the Welpen-1×1 class quickly. After the adjustment period, Simba will be happy to attend a positively working dog training class. In a few months, Simba will enter puberty, which will bring everything he has learned so far into question and test the boundaries anew. But with a loving and consistent upbringing by his adopters, the little puppy will emerge from this phase as a well-mannered and confident young male dog, faithfully and reliably accompanying his family in all activities. We wish for Simba loving, animal-friendly people who will take in the cuddly puppy with love and patience, offering him a family connection, a warm dog bed, beautiful walks, and – crucial for a puppy – plenty of contact with fellow animals. We would also be very happy about a foster home for Simba. We thank the namingsponsor Shorty for giving the little Lion Prince his name! As of: 07.06. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Stand: 07.06.2024

About Simba

What life with Simba looks like

Simba is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Simba, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Simba?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Simba on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Simba if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Simba already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Simba isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Simba and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
